Feeling Good App Privacy Policy
Positive Rewards Ltd. (“Positive Rewards,” “us” or "we") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy in connection with your use of The Feeling Good App (“App”), which may be updated from time-to-time at the sole discretion of Positive Rewards.
This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy") and any other documents referred to herein set forth the basis on which any personal information we collect from you, or that you provide to us, in connection with the App will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal information and how we will collect, use and safeguard your information.
Information we collect from you
We do not collect any personal information, that is any information that could cause you to be identified. We do collect non-personally identifiable information (non-PII) - i.e. data that cannot be used on its own to trace, or identify a person. The non-PII data we collect is age, gender, ethnicity and mood data, which is requested if you choose to complete our in-App questionnaire.
We use Google Firebase and Google Analytics (“GA”) as a data processor, to process information from the App to allow us to monitor the functioning of the App in terms of its technical function, usability and any therapeutic effects. GA collects data related to the device, IP address and app activities to measure and report statistics about user interactions on the app. The App applies IP masking so your device IP address cannot identify your location & internet connection. IP anonymisation occurs before any data storing or processing. GA does not store nor process complete IP addresses. It is not possible to identify you as a user of the App.
We use HotJar as a data processor of non-PII data in order to collect and analyse user information on our website including information such as clicks, scroll depth and non-personally identifiable screen recordings for the sole purpose of improving our web experience.
Like many other companies, we target banners and ads to you when you are on other websites, applications and search engines. This is done using a variety of digital marketing techniques including ad exchanges and marketing networks using several advertising technologies like web beacons, pixels, ad tags, cookies, as well as specific services offered by some sites and social networks (such as Facebook’s Custom Audience services). We adhere to all advertiser policies and stick to strict rules and regulations set out by several advertising standards bodies as well as alcohol and spirits marketing policies. We also do not retain anything personally identifiable and do not sell or pass on any of your information to anyone else. We use cookies and other tracking methods to understand the value of our marketing initiatives and in no way track you in a personally identifiable way.
If you have been given a username and password by a health or social care professional or other person, which allows you to unlock the tracks free of charge, you cannot be identified from inputting these codes. On entering these codes the App generates a random 8 digit number to enable the App to match questionnaire data at week 0 (depression and anxiety mood scores) with questionnaires completed later (depression and anxiety mood scores and utility feedback). At no stage is any information collected that could be used to identify you. Data is anonymously aggregated by us for evaluation, with the purpose of monitoring and improving the App and our services. We may share this anonymous data with our partners e.g. Foundation for Positive Mental Health and/or known external bodies such as funders and/or institutions. We do not share your information with other companies that may use it for advertising and marketing.
We adopt a data minimisation principle, i.e. we only collect and retain data that is necessary for the delivery of our service; on a basis of adequacy, relevancy and limited to what is needed in relation to the purposes for which they are processed. Our data collection processes are compliant with the EU GDPR regulations (General Data Protection Regulations), which provides the following data protection rights for individuals:
The right to access – You have the right to request us for copies of your personal data.
The right to rectification – You have the right to request us to correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request us complete the information you believe is incomplete.
The right to erasure – You have the right to request that us erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
The right to have avoid automated decision-making.
If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Controller Dr Alastair Dobbin on info@positiverewards.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
Your use of the app is consent to your opting in to allowing us to collect such data as we do.

If you suspect a child is using this App without permission and are concerned about any data privacy issues please contact us, see details below.
Confidentiality and security
The security of personal information is important to us. We follow the most recent regulatory EU and NHS standards to protect all information submitted to us both during transmission and once it is received.
If a security breach takes place, we will quickly establish whether a personal data breach has occurred and, if so, promptly take steps to address it, compliant with ICO, including telling the ICO if required.
If you have any concerns about a data breach or questions about the security of the App and your information, you can contact our Data Controller Dr Alastair Dobbin on info@positiverewards.co.uk
As we do not collect your personal data, we cannot provide your personal information to any third party.
The developer’s Privacy Policy no longer applies when following links to any third party websites, and users should consult the third party Policy.
Where we store your data
Data collected from the App is stored in GA, in anonymised form, and is stored securely in the cloud, on Google Firebase, accessed by us through a 2-step authentication process. GA does not share data between GA users. Data is only held for 4 years.
Changes to our privacy policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any substantial changes to the way we collect or use your data, this will be documented in the ‘What’s new’ app upgrade area in the app store and you will be asked to re-consent to this, prior to your continuing use of the App.
